Poet and presenter of the Verb on Radio 4, Ian McMillan and photographer Andrew Brooks talk about their collaborative exhibition The Songs The Morning Sang.

They will share how the collaboration developed, starting from Ian’s daily morning stroll posts on social media. To the final call and response works that they created together. With each of their creative visions inspiring the words, photographs and ideas that combine in this unique exhibition.

They also talk about their work with the Portico’s collection of books, how they selected words and images from many books to create the cut and paste collages from the exhibition. These collages find new connections and stories that explore similar themes, images and ideas to the early stroll artworks of the main exhibition.
