Chair of Trustees

The Portico Library is seeking a new Chair of Trustees to help lead our exciting plans for the future of the Library. This is a voluntary position requiring around 3–4 days per month, including some evenings and weekends. Trust Board meetings are usually held in person at the Library. The standard term of office is three years. To be eligible for the role, you must be legally able to serve as a trustee of a charity.

The Chair will:

Lead the Trust Board and support the Library team in delivering our mission and values.

Guide the organisation through significant change and development.

Act as an ambassador for the Library, building partnerships and raising our profile.

Ensure strong governance, clear strategy, and sound use of our resources.
