Win all six books in the Portico Prize 2022 Shortlist, worth £80!

To help us announce this year’s Portico Prize Shortlist, we’d love to see what the spirit of the North of England means to you.
Share with us a short film or video clip you’ve taken that you think captures the spirit of the North of England — its people, places, moments of atmospheres — and if your clip is selected, you’ll receive a Portico Prize Shortlist book bundle in the post, worth approximately £80. All winning clips will be made into a short film to officially announce the Portico Prize 2022 shortlist via our social media channels, and screened at our Shortlist Readings event in January 2022.
The competition is open to anyone based in the UK. Amateur videos are welcome and the clip can be filmed on your phone. There’s no need to be a professional videographer, as long as the clip is created by you!
How to take part
Share your clip on your social media account and tell us where it was filmed. Max lenth 1 min.
Use the hashtags #PorticoPrize and #WhatsYourNorth.
Follow and tag us on Instagram, Twitter and/or Facebook so we can see your clips and share them with our followers!
Google drive, Dropbox, Vimeo and YouTube links shared via email will also be considered. Please send to: prize@theportico.org.uk
