Spring Equinox Flow: March Yoga

  • The Portico Library 57 Mosley Street Manchester, England, M2 3HY United Kingdom (map)

Tickets £10 or pay what you can for those on low come, plus a booking fee. Book here.

Try an experimental yoga flow class that combines reading with movement to welcome the light of Spring.

On the Spring Equinox we are taking Katherine May's re-reading of the Aesop fable The Grasshopper and the Ant in her book Wintering. We embrace kindness in ourselves to be an ant or a grasshopper and allow ourselves to flow into Spring and lighter days.

Yoga instructor Polly Anna Steiner will guide us through a yoga flow. Mats, blocks and blankets will be supplied but feel free to bring your own too.

‘Flow continuously through a creative sequence to find a powerful connection between body and mind.'

  • We begin with guided meditation to find a sense of grounding, followed by gentle movements to awaken the body, and then flowing into more dynamic movement patterns led by the breath.

  • Repeating the sequence a few times over to allow for a moving meditation to unfold. Finding our strength, flexibility and balance through both the physical and energetic body.

  • We close with guided relaxation to gather and digest the benefits of the practice.
