For our first immersive life modelling session of 2026, HappeningInMCR are pleased to be working with life model Squid.

"Squid (they/them) is a Manchester based mixed media artist and performer. Their life experience as a queer, trans and autistic person has deeply shaped their art and expression. Being mixed Irish and Chinese while growing up in Ireland, Squid’s art has developed to be unashamedly playful and silly while keeping political motivation and the fight for liberation from our oppressors at the heart of everything they do.

Using dance and expression as a tool and leaving room for mess and chaos, Squid hopes to continue joining others in radical displays of (often hedonistic) spectacle and to carry on more than ever, existing in the face of our oppressors."
