Food for Thought Conversation Club: 'How Should We Eat?'

  • The Portico Library 57 Mosley Street Manchester, England, M2 3HY United Kingdom (map)

£25 plus booking fee (online). Book here online or call the library / walk in.

Since we opened in 1806, the Portico Library has been a place of conversation, where ideas are explored from a variety of perspectives. Food for Thought continues this tradition of curiosity with conversations led by staff, volunteers and friends of the Portico on the topics they are passionate about.

Join us for casual conversation aimed at sharing perspectives and helping one another gain understanding. All levels of knowledge are welcome, and no preparation is needed.

For our first session, Portico Kitchen manager Joe Fenn asks, ‘How Should We Eat?’ With different cuisines on every street and summer fruits available in the dead of winter, we have more culinary choice than ever before. But despite their implications for our health, identity and environment, the decisions we make are often impulsive and habitual. Join the conversation to talk about what we might consider when we decide what to have for dinner.

Ticket price includes a simple set menu two-course lunch plus tea and coffee.

We will accommodate dietary requirements wherever possible. Please make us aware of any special requirements when making your booking.
