Gin! An Education.

David Winnard of Discover the Wild will introduce the evening with a brief history of gin and from there he will lead a tasting. With David’s amazing knowledge of foraging and the natural world, he will explain the way that gin is produced and infused with some wonderful flavours. Later on, Theresa Sowerby will perform some poems with her inimitable humour and gusto! Three cocktails are included in the price and some simple and delicious food accompaniments will be provided. There are few more splendid settings in Manchester in which to enjoy a gin tasting! Spaces are limited so don't miss out.

David Winnard is one of the most respected foragers and naturalists in the North of England, having worked with and for organisations including the BBC, RSPB, Lancashire Wildlife Trust, City of Trees, Groundwork, Brockholes as well as many local councils, groups and organisations. He also works closely with a number of gin companies helping them use wild plants and fungi in their drinks.

Theresa Sowerby has published poetry and prose in a range of magazines, won the Huddersfield 2017 poetry competition and has had plays shortlisted and performed in various venues, twice winning the audience award for best play.
