Café
Our café remains at the heart of what we do, and we continue to serve homemade refreshments six days a week. Our menu is a mix of contemporary brunch dishes, local classics and changing specials, all built upon quality ingredients sourced from local bakers, butchers, and greengrocers wherever possible. Check out our menu below or pop in to see us from 10.30am Monday to Friday for breakfast and lunch, or from 11.00am on Saturdays for coffee and cake.
Catering
Nowadays, we do much more than lunch. For special occasions, private hires, and tour groups we offer a variety of set menu and buffet options – take a look at our menus below, or if you have any other enquiries send an email to kitchen@theportico.org.uk.
Portico Feasts
Twice a year, we also hold our hugely popular Portico Feasts, serving elaborate multi-course meals in the spectacular setting of the Library. Themes in the past have included a Victorian Christmas dinner cooked from recipes found in the Library’s collection and a mid-summer French feast on Bastille day, complete with chanson from The Chanteuse. Tickets sell out fast, so be sure to book yours early!
