The
Assembly |

The
Portico Library and Gallery presents its annual Schools' Exhibition and
Art Prize during October. The Assembly has become an extremely successful
pioneering event showcasing the work of 5th and 6th form students from
schools and colleges across the North West. Culminating in an art prize
the exhibition provides an opportunity for pupils to show and sell their
work in a commercial city centre gallery. It
is a celebration of young people and their talent as well as the institutions
which provide the teaching and support for the next generation of budding
artists. The Portico is keen to help develop confidence and self esteem
through the medium of art by bringing together local communities for this
successful exhibition.
